31ST ANNUAL ART COMPETITION | DECEMBER 2014

The artwork, Mas, by artist Lauren Childs of Fort Worth, has been selected as a finalist in the Portraits/Figures category of The Artist's Magazine 31st Annual Art Competition. It will be in the magazine's December 2014 issue. 

 

A THREADED CANVAS | SEPT 6TH-20TH, 2014

Featuring fashion designs by Michael-David Light, ReVint Boutique and Georgina Estefania.  The featured gallery will feature several works by artists Riley Holloway, Janet Chaffee, Lauren Childs, Dead Artists Society, Leigh Ann Williams, John Carlisle Moore and Janna Tidwell.  Coupled with this will be a large salon formatted exhibition featuring a multitude of artists in a secondary space.

A COMMON THREAD | JUNE 6-28, 2014

A Common Thread will feature the paintings of Lauren Childs. Her technical skill and eye, coupled with a bit of psychological mystery, create dynamic breathtaking compositions that draw the viewer into her oil paintings. Her body of art deals with her past, present and future experiences, examining the dynamic that lies between exaltation and despair.

The showcase will also include art from Nix Johnson, Clara Jewel Moore, Greg Bahr, Leigh Ann Williams, William Webster, Jessica Pullings, and The Dead Artists Society.

PAINTED VIOLINS: PASSIONS FROM THE PALETTE | FEBRUARY 2011

Lauren Childs was selected along with 27 other artists from Fort Worth to paint a Violin for The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's Children's Fundraiser.  Her Violin was selected out of all participants to be the cover work of FWSO's annual 2012-13 program cover.

THE 2014 39TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL SIGLO DE ORO | FEBRUARY 12- MARCH 30, 2014

Lauren Childs wins Third Place in the International Siglo de Oro Oil Painting Competition.  The Siglo de Oro Drama Festival has been held at Chamizal National Monument continuously since 1975. The festival features the Golden Age of Spain through plays and soliloquies. These productions help us understand a culture which has had a significant impact on our own in the United States southwest and in México.
